BEST OF BREED - Our classical breeding program has seen over 20 years of sustainable husbandry practices, creating eight generations of King salmon. This has produced over 100 distinct King salmon families, chosen so that only the finest examples – with the most appealing taste, texture, color and size are carried forward to subsequent generations. As a result, the Ōra King salmon breed within the program have developed specific and unique traits which distinguish them from other King salmon.

Furthermore, Monterey Bay Aquarium’s consumer guide, Seafood Watch has given New Zealand King salmon a ‘Best Choice’ buy rating for consumers. Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise conservation program also recommends Ōra King as a sustainable seafood option. These independent ratings support our ongoing and substantive efforts to maintain our environmental integrity.
