I have been ordering fresh uni from Maruhide for some time, and I have never been disappointed. They are at the mercy of elements and natural factors like spawning, which impact availability. However, when they do have it, it is far superior to anything I can get at my local Japanese markets.

Recently, I have noticed they are developing new products and offering other gourmet Japanese foods like A5 Japanese wagyu, uni pasta kits, caviar, and soba kits. I have tried most of these products and have been extremely satisfied, especially with the soba! In my opinion, it truly rivals the fresh soba I get at restaurants that make their noodles on-premise. It's much better than any dried brands I've tried. I highly recommend it!

I have always been impressed with the quality of their uni, and now their other products are equally as good. Maruhide has become my go-to for gourmet Japanese foods.

One more thing: delivery. It is always well packed and arrives overnight. I live locally to the processing plant so I could pick it up, but why bother when the packaging and delivery are so excellent?

All of the products were outstanding! I've only had Uni from Japan about a dozen times both in the US and in Japan. This was by far the best I've had. It was great to taste side by side with your California Uni. Both incredible and different in a lot of ways. Used the Uni butter, Uni soy sauce, sake, and some green onion to make a pasta sauce. Topped with miso ika and smoked trout roe (one jar still was enough). The Ikura from Hokkaido was more delicate and flavorful then what you get in the states. A wonderful meal shared with friends.

Maruhide Marine Product in LA is my go-to spot for indulging in the finest seafood delights. Nestled in the heart of the city, this hidden gem offers a captivating array of traditional Japanese marine products that never disappoint. With each visit, I'm greeted by the tantalizing aroma of fresh seafood, and the sight of their premium-grade uni never fails to excite my taste buds. The staff's warm hospitality and expert guidance add to the overall experience, making every trip to Maruhide Marine Product a memorable culinary adventure. Whether I'm treating myself to a solo sushi feast or gathering with friends for a seafood extravaganza, Maruhide never fails to impress with its impeccable quality and exceptional service.

The world’s top Santa Barbara Uni producer. They supply the best restaurants in the US and Japan, so you already know what you’re getting. The saltwater Uni boxes are beyond incredible, they also sell pasta kits and A5 Wagyu which are 10/10. Can’t recommend enough.

As we are two uni lovers, a pickup at the factory has become our first stop in LA. The staff was so kind that they waited for us till slightly outside the normal pickup range (we were stuck in the traffic), even when we only come for a small tray. The uni itself is the freshest I’ve had! The taste is pleasant and sweet - we finished all in 2 minutes in front of the Iowa without any condiment.
