The lid is heavy and there are no holes, allowing internal pressure. This rarely seen "complete" Donabe comes with pot, lid, traditional heating base (for single use cooking fuel), and table trivet. How to Cook Rice in a Donabe

• Warnings:
• Do not touch burning solid fuel or any heat source, or you may get burns.
• Do not use the product on an unstable surface.
• Do not let children use the product unattended.
• Do not use the product in reach of small children. It may cause fire, burns or injuries.
• Do not heat with electric stoves.

• Before use
Inspect Donabe for any cracks or chips and not fractured.
We carefully examine all products before shipping. However, if you notice any problem after receiving it, please contact us before using it.
Hand wash only using mild detergent. Allow Donabe to air-dry naturally. Your Donabe is now ready to use.

• Cooking with Donabe
• Pour an appropriate amount of rice and water into the pot. Do not overfill as it may boil over and cause damage to the vessel, heating units, and potentially cause personal injury. Cover pot with lid. Ensure lid is set correctly to avoid steam escaping and causing injury.
• Do not open the lid while cooking. Vessle and contents, including water and steam, will be VERY HOT and may cause burns and serious injury. Please take steps to use appropriate protection when using a Donabe.
• When using gas stoves, avoid blowing or ventilating air around pot, as flame may become uncontrollable.
• If using a portable stove, please be sure to place on a level surface with sufficient heat protection.
• Do not move stove or vessel during cooking.
• Do not subject pot, lid, or stand to any strong impacts. Components are ceramic and may break and cause injury and/or burns.

• Let rice soak 15 min before heating
• When using gas stove, it is ideal to use medium-low heat, 15-20 minutes depending on how much rice is being cooked.
• Turn off heat, keep the lid on. Allow rice to continue steaming for 10 minutes.
• Please handle carefully, pot and lid will still be HOT.
• Remove cover and gently fluff up rice. Serve immediately and enjoy.
